The Core Values of SJCC
As children of God we will live our faith through:
genuine hospitality, passionate worship,
intentional faith development, risk-taking mission and service,
and Spirit-led generosity.
Welcome to our New Minister!
Rev. Dr. Colleen Carroll was approved to receive the call as our new senior pastor in a unanimous vote by the congregation on June 28, 2015, and she accepted! Colleen will officially begin her ministry with us on August 16th.
On August 23rd, Area Minister Mike Weinman will be with us during worship for a covenant service
between Colleen and the congregation. Following worship, we will continue the celebration with our monthly fellowship luncheon. Everyone is invited to come celebrate the beginning of our new journey!
A cake will be provided, so no desserts are needed.
Please bring a main dish or side of your choice.
Movies in the Park
Come to Friendship Park at 7:00 on Friday, August 28th, for hot dogs, fellowship, and games in the park.
The movie will begin closer to dusk, around 8:00pm.
Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, and come ready to enjoy a family movie on our outdoor screen.
All are welcome!

Responding to Disaster
As storms happen in other parts of the country and world, we here in Joplin are very aware of how important the generous responses of other people and churches continue to be to our recovery. As we hear of other locations sustaining great damage from severe weather, we know that your responses will matter to them as well. We remind you of the important work that Week of Compassion does in disaster response. Why not take a minute now to make a donation to that important work? To do so, click here.

Come Be Part of the Dream!
At South Joplin Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) we have been dreaming with God about our future. We have done ministry in Joplin for over 100 years and are planning for the century ahead. As part of this process we have:
*Set priorities for ministries
*Begun work to make improvements to our church building
*Increased our commitments as members of SJCC to financial support of the future
*Installed a projection system in the sanctuary to increase our options for worship and other ministries
*Created a plan for major improvements to our current facility and future building of new facilities
We invite you to be part of seeing this dream come true!
