Responding to Disaster

As storms happen in other parts of the country and world, we here in Joplin are very aware of how important the generous responses of other people and churches continue to be to our recovery. As we hear of other locations sustaining great damage from severe weather, we know that your responses will matter to them as well. We remind you of the important work that Week of Compassion does in disaster response. Why not take a minute now to make a donation to that important work? To do so, click here.

South Joplin Christian Church Disciples of Christ

Green Chalice Ministries

SJCC achieved a goal of becoming a Green Chalice Ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in September of 2015, and is now working on becoming a Certified Green Chalice Ministry.  As an important step in that direction, the congregation affirmed The Alverna Covenant on Earth Stewardship Sunday, April 17, 2016, pledging to walk more gently on the earth in the management of our facilities and activities. For more information about Green Chalice Ministries or to read the text of The Alverna Covenant, go to

Come join us on the path of faith.
