Rev. Jill Cameron Michel, Pastor
Jill has been pastor since January 2001. Both her undergraduate and graduate work were at Disciples' schools, graduating from Culver-Stockton College in 1995 and Lexington Theological Seminary in 1998. Jill was ordained in 1998. She and her husband, Jim, share their lives with sons, Cameron, Teegan and John, and daughter, Katy. You can contact Jill at pastor@southjoplindisciples.org .
Kathryn Wilson, Minister of Mission and Outreach
Kathryn Wilson joined our staff in May 2012. Kathryn is a graduate of Lexington Theological Seminary where she attended following a 25 year career as a Probation Officer. Kathryn is originally from Louisville, KY, but spent the last 30 years in Xenia, OH where her children and grandchildren still reside. We are excited to add Kathryn's depth of spirit and mind to our staff.
Dean Salchow, Choir Director
Dean has served as our adult choir director since 1997. Along with being our church choir director, Dean spent 30 years teaching band. 25 of those years were spent as band director at Webb City schools. Dean and his wife, Verna, have two grown sons.
Karen Patchin Watson, Organist
Karen grew up at South Joplin Christian Church and is excited to serve her home church as organist.
She also teaches middle school vocal choir. Karen has two grown sons and one precious granddaughter. She was excited when the opportunity arose for her faith and musical talent to work together in the position of organist.
Heather Williams, Nursery Attendant
We are happy to have Heather Williams back on staff in the nursery. Heather had previously worked as one of our nursery
attendants. Her welcoming smile greets children and parents as they enter the nursery. She is raising her daughter, Lexus.
Sherry Elliott, Church Secretary
Sherry began serving as church secretary in 2004. She also continues to sell real estate. Sherry's biggest joy is her infant granddaughter who sometimes spends time with her at the church office. Sherry has never met a stranger, which makes her presence in the office a blessing.
Michael Davison, Custodian
Michael began serving as church custodian August 2012. Michael and his wife, Tabitha, along with their children, Isaac and Emma,
have been long time members and leaders at South Joplin. We are excited to have him on staff.
